Early Pregnancy Basics

Learn all about prenatal exercise, nutrition, the discomforts of pregnancy, and the growth and development of your baby. A tour of the unit is included. The class is conducted by a registered nurse from labor and delivery.

Epidural Anesthesia

Expectant mothers will learn many pain-relieving techniques for labor, delivery and c-section. Focus of the class will be on epidural, spinal and general anesthesia.

Infant/Child CPR

Designed for teens and adults. Class members will learn how to child-proof the home; how to handle an emergency; how to help a child that is choking; and receive hands-on CPR training. All instructors are nurses certified in CPR by the American Heart Association.

Newborn Care

This class will answer your questions concerning baby’s feeding patterns, behavior, appearance and skin care, and provide you with information that will help you recognize illness. The class is designed for expectant mothers, fathers, couples planning to adopt, and grandparents.

The Stork Club

The Stork Club has been designed for parents and their children three years of age and older. Meet the staff and learn all about the Family Maternity Center. While parents meet with the staff, children will be busy with a sibling class designed especially for them. Class sizes are limited, so please register early.

Lamaze—Childbirth Education

Through Lamaze, you will learn all about labor and delivery, relaxation and special conditioning exercises. You and your childbirth coach will learn about the total childbirth experience and ease any fears you may have.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing such as pants or shorts, sweats and tennis shoes, and please bring two pillows and a blanket. Payment is due at the time of your first class. Classes are taught by ASPO-certified Lamaze instructors.
