About Proctor Hospital
Proctor
Hospital is home to some of the latest state-of-the-art technology and has one of
the most sophisticated cardiac surgical suites in downstate Illinois. Licensed for
299 beds, the Hospital has recently added the latest in digital imaging technology
to its Surgical Services and Mammography departments. Comprehensive cardiovascular
care includes digital interventional imaging in its cardiac catheterization lab
and the Diagnostic Imaging department is equipped with dual MRI’s and 64-slice GE
Lightspeed CT scanner.
With over 500 physicians, the Hospital provides comprehensive
inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and plays a major role in the treatment
of heart disease. It offers outstanding care for heart attack victims in the area’s
first Emergency Chest Pain Center, and its cardiovascular program includes the
first hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation program in the area.
The Hospital compliments
its growing comprehensive orthopedic program with a dedicated orthopedic unit, physical
therapy, and an outstanding skilled nursing center for extended stays when necessary.
Also part of this technology is Proctor eCare, a major component of which is the
electronic health record of a patient’s health history. It includes test and imaging
results, medication history, doctors’ notes and general health history—from childhood
allergies to surgeries. Patient safety is the highest priority at Proctor. At the
forefront of its strategic initiative of medication/patient safety is a closed-loop,
barcode-based, medication management system encompassing all aspects of the medication
use process. ROBOT-Rx, an important part of this initiative, is recognized in the
healthcare field for its accuracy in the prevention of medication dispensing errors.
A newly remodeled surgical waiting area and room for new dads and families in the
Family Maternity Center are inviting reminders of Proctor’s pleasant aesthetic.
The internationally known Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery provides a
comprehensive range of hospital-based inpatient and outpatient treatment to men,
women and adolescents. The IIAR is located on the campus of Proctor Hospital with
offices in Bloomington, Springfield, and Harvey, Illinois. Additional services at
Proctor include its Family Maternity Center, Wound Clinic, Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Center, Sleep Disorders Center and Skilled Nursing Center. Proctor Home Care and
Proctor Medical Equipment provide care in the comfort of your own home.
