The following timeline is provided to give you an idea of the process of our formation of a new EMS System. This timeline assumes approval of applications and program plans and will need to be adjusted if any application or plan submitted for approval is denied.
These dates are estimates, based on our knowledge of the process. Some items may take less time to complete, others will take more time to complete. We anticipate the EMS System being operational early summer 2011. We appreciate your patience in this process and look forward to the date when we can announce that everything has been completed and the Proctor Hospital EMS System is up and running. Until then, we will note the progress as we move through the process by marking those steps which have been completed.

• New EMS System formation to be considered and voted upon by Region 2 EMS Advisory Committee – APPROVED

August 12, 2010

• Application to IDPH for the formation of a new EMS System by Proctor Hospital – COMPLETED
• Prepare EMS System Program Plan for submission to IDPH – COMPLETED
• Request interested provider agencies to prepare and submit applications to join   the Proctor EMS System
• Prepare Proctor Hospital EMS Standing Medical Orders, Protocols and Policies
• Prepare Proctor Hospital EMS Education Plan
• Prepare Proctor Hospital EMS Quality Assurance Plan

August 20, 2010

• Letter of Regional Support received from Region 2 EMS Advisory Committee – COMPLETED

October 6, 2010

• Await approval of application to form new EMS System by IDPH - APPROVED BY IDPH

February 28th, 2011

• Submitted EMS Program Plan to IDPH for review and approval

March to May 2011

• Await approval of Proctor Hospital EMS Program Plan by IDPH

April to July 2011

• Prepare for the start-up of the NEW Proctor Hospital EMS System
• Train ED Nurses as Emergency Communications Registered Nurses (ECRNs)
• Train EMTs, ECRNs and First Responders joining the new EMS System on the Proctor Hospital SMO's and Policies
• Start providing Education through the NEW Proctor EMS System

August 5, 2011 

Proctor Hospital EMS System received a final approval letter from the Illinois Department of Public Health.   We are in the process of finalizing the last required details for system operation and soon we will be posting our projected start up date.  We will keep you posted.
